Founded in 1980 by M. Richard Roseman, MAC Consulting is the most experienced consulting, direct marketing, and publishing firm for the consumer electronics, integration and MI industries. Corporate clients include Sony, Mitsubishi, Yamaha, Pioneer, Lutron, Philips and McIntosh. “Boutique” audio clients include Acoustic Innovations, Creek Audio (London) and B&K Electronics. MAC Consulting’s client list includes over 300 prominent companies. Numerous MI corporations from around the world are on its rosters – a current list is available on request. Recent projects include creating and administering a new and very successful division for Sony Electronics in 27 countries and training over 4,000 employees in advanced sales techniques, launching Argentina’s leading AV company in North America and guiding several high-tech startups in California and New York.

Richard Roseman has owned and managed companies in the audio/video, music, custom cabinetry and interior design industries. While he grew up in the family construction and supply business, Mr. Roseman remained more interested in music, which led to his involvement in the electronics industry. His first audio/video store, Massachusetts based Matrix Audio Video, was one of the most innovative consumer electronics from the day they opened in 1979. Matrix integrated video equipment with audio, co-marketed cabinetry with audio video systems, featured the first residential surround sound systems, promoted video Laserdiscs, started a Laserdisc rental club, and created innovative marketing programs.

Mr. Roseman founded award-winning Bass Gear Magazine with Tom Bowlus in 2007. It is now the world’s most widely read bass equipment magazine. The publishing division of Bass Gear now includes Bass Gear Weekly, an e-mailed newsletter. The company has expanded to include also started Global Gear Brokers and Global Gear Consulting, providing a suite of services to the worldwide Guitar and Bass industry.

Richard’s background includes studies in traditional business marketing and advertising, as well as Information Design with Edward Tufte (Yale University), Graphical Design and Visual Perception with John McWade (PageLab), 1-to-1 Marketing with Peppers and Rogers, and Experience-based marketing with Joe Pine. He has created and administered sales training programs integrating his direct career experience with the techniques used by leading experts in multiple disciplines.

Mr. Roseman is a founding member and lecturer for electronics industry associations including the Professional Audio Video Retailers Association (PARA), the Home Theater Specialists of America (HTSA), and the Custom Electronics Design and Installation Association (CEDIA). He has been a professional musician since the age of 14, and continues to perform regularly. Mr. Roseman holds degrees in economics, history and nutritional science. He is fluent in English, Spanish and Portuguese. He has been selected annually for inclusion in Who’s Who in America and Who’s Who in the World since 1999.
